System Testing

  1. Check PCV hose, grommet, breather hoses, and connections for cracks, damage, deterioration, and obstructions. Ensure that all connections are tight.
  2. Remove breather chamber cover and connect a vacuum pump to PCV valve. See Figure . Pinch hose as shown while applying 16-20 in. Hg. vacuum. Release the hose. If no clicking sound is heard, replace valve.
