Air Suction Valve
- Check vacuum lines for proper connection, cracks, blockage and routing. Bring engine to normal operating temperature (cooling fan comes on). Turn off engine and restart. Using a stethoscope, listen to air suction valve. Within 20 seconds after restart (10 seconds on Coupe), air suction noise (bubbling noise), should be heard.
- If no suction noise present, disconnect hose from top of air suction valve and attach a vacuum gauge. Turn engine off. Restart and check for vacuum within 20 seconds after restart (10 seconds on Coupe).
- If vacuum is present, replace air suction valve and retest. If no vacuum is present, See AIR SUCTION CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE , TEST ONE.
- Turn engine off. With vacuum hose still disconnected, start engine. Check for air suction noise from air suction valve at idle, 30 seconds after restart (15 seconds on Coupe).
- If no air suction noise present, test is complete. If air suction noise is present, See AIR SUCTION CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE , TEST TWO.
