Dimmer Switch Circuit: Integra

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove lower dashboard cover. From behind dashboard, push out dimmer switch from dashboard. Disconnect dimmer switch 3-pin connector.
  2. With headlight switch on or off, use a DVOM to check for continuity between dimmer switch 3-pin connector Black wire and ground. Continuity should be present. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair open in Black wire or poor ground connection G301 located in left side of engine compartment next to windshield washer fluid reservoir or ground connection G401 located behind left kick panel.
  3. With headlight switch on, use a DVOM to check for battery voltage between dimmer switch 3-pin connector Red/Black wire and ground. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, replace blown fuse No. 11 or repair faulty headlight switch or open circuit in Red/Black wire.
  4. With headlight switch on, use a jumper wire to ground dimmer switch 3-pin connector Red wire. Dashlights should come on. If dashlights come on, dimmer switch circuits are okay. Replace dimmer switch. If dashlights do not come on, repair open circuit in Red/Black wire or Red wire for dimmer switch 3-pin connector.
