Shift Lever Position Switch: Integra

  1. Remove front console to access shift lever position switch located on right side of shift lever mechanism. Disconnect shift lever position switch 10-pin connector.
  2. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between shift lever position switch 10-pin connector terminals No. 1 and 7 with shift lever in "2", "S" and "D" positions. See Fig 1 . Continuity should be present in each position. If continuity is present, shift lever position switch is functioning properly. If continuity is not present, go to next step.
  3. With DVOM connected to shift lever position switch 10-pin connector terminals No. 1 and 7, move shift lever back and forth slightly without pushing on shift lever button while in "2", "S" and "D" positions.
  4. Continuity should be present in each position. If continuity is present, shift lever position switch is functioning properly. If continuity is not present, check shift lever position switch adjustment. See SHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS  . If shift lever position switch adjustment is okay, replace malfunctioning shift lever position switch and adjust as necessary. See SHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS  .
