Cruise Control Cannot Be Set
- Check ground connection G301 located in left side of engine compartment next to windshield washer fluid reservoir. Check ground connection G401 located behind left kick panel. Repair ground connections as necessary. Check cruise control unit inputs. See CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Check main switch. See MAIN SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Check SET/RESUME switch. See SET/RESUME SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING . Check brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Check clutch switch on M/T vehicles. See CLUTCH SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Check shift lever position switch on A/T vehicles. See SHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING .
- Inspect the following wires for open circuit: Blue/Red wire between horns and SET/RESUME switch, Light Green/Red wire between SET/RESUME switch and cruise control unit 14-pin connector (wire between SET/RESUME switch and cruise control unit passes through slip ring assembly), Blue wire between ignition system and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Black/Yellow wire between underdash fuse No. 24 (15 amp) and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Light Green wire between main switch and cruise control unit 14-pin connector and brakelight switch, Gray wire between brakelight switch and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Yellow/Red wire between speedometer and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Brown wire between actuator assembly and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Brown/Black wire between actuator assembly and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, Brown/White wire between actuator assembly and cruise control unit 14-pin connector, and Pink wire between clutch switch (M/T) or shift lever position switch (A/T) and cruise control unit 14-pin connector. Repair wires as necessary.
