Removal & Installation: Solenoid: Installation

  1. Fill modulator body with clean brake fluid up to step in solenoid mounting hole. Coat new solenoid "O" rings with clean brake fluid, and install "O" rings on solenoid. Apply thin film of clean brake fluid to solenoid body and "O" rings. Position solenoid on set plate.
  2. Ensure mark on set plate matches mark on solenoid. Install set plate bolt removed in step  4 of REMOVAL procedure. Tighten all set plate bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m). Ensure maintenance bleeder screw is closed. To refill pump inlet hose, hold finger over hole in bottom of solenoid head rear cavity.
  3. Pour brake fluid into rear cavity. Run pump for 2-3 seconds. See step  3 of REMOVAL procedure. If solenoid leaks, bleed high pressure fluid and then remove solenoid and inspect "O" rings for damage. See RELIEVING ACCUMULATOR/LINE PRESSURE  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Bleed brakes. See AIR BLEEDING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
