Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch
- Remove coolant temperature switch or sensor. On Integra, switch is located on rear of engine cylinder block. On Legend and Vigor, sensor is located on thermostat housing.
- Suspend switch and a thermometer in a container partially filled with coolant. Heat coolant while monitoring temperature. Measure sensor resistance or check for continuity at temperatures specified. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR/SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS table.
- If continuity or resistance is not as specified, replace sensor or switch. If continuity or resistance is as specified, check relay and all related wiring. See TIMER UNIT & FAN CONTROL UNIT.
