No CHECK ENGINE Light

  1. Turn ignition on. If oil pressure light is on, go to next step. If light is off, inspect fuse No. 23. If fuse No. 23 is okay, repair open circuit in Yellow wire between fuse and combination meter.
  2. If oil pressure light is on, turn ignition off. Connect ECU test harness connector between ECU and ECU connector. Jumper ECU terminal A13 to body ground. See Fig 2 . Turn ignition on. If CHECK ENGINE light is now on, go to next step. If light is off, replace CHECK ENGINE light bulb or repair open in Green/Orange wire between ECU terminal A13 and combination meter.
  3. Measure voltage individually between ground and ECU terminals A23 and A24. If less than one volt is present on each terminal, substitute a known good ECU. If problem goes away, replace ECU. If problem does not go away, repair open in wire between ECU and ground terminal G101. See Fig 1 .
