Vehicle Speed Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1992 Acura Legend. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Vehicle speed sensor is located at left front wheel. Connect test harness between ECU and vehicle harness connectors. Block rear wheels. Set parking brake. Raise and support front of vehicle. Connect voltmeter between test harness terminals A26 and C2.
  2. Turn ignition on. Slowly rotate left front wheel. Voltage should pulsate between zero and 5 volts. If voltage pulsates as specified, go to step 3). If voltage does not pulsate as specified, check for open or short in Yellow/Red wire between ECU terminal B16 and speed sensor. If wire is okay, replace faulty speed sensor or ECU.
  3. Substitute a known good ECU, and retest. If problem goes away, replace ECU.
