Disassembly & Reassembly
- On Legend, remove pinion dust seal. On all models, remove valve body-to-gear housing bolts. Remove cap from valve body. See Fig 1, Fig 2 or Fig 3 . Remove cap seal from cap. Remove pressure control valve and spring from valve body. Inspect pressure control valve for wear and damage. Replace as necessary.
- Remove gain control valve and spring from valve body. Inspect gain control valve for wear and damage. Replace as necessary. Separate valve body and port housing. Remove port seal and dowel from port housing. Remove rollers from control valve by pushing valve out one side and then the other.
- Remove plungers, return springs and control valve from valve body. On Integra, control valves are available in 2 sizes. "A" is stamped on control valve "A" for identification. Control valve "B" has no identification mark. See CONTROL VALVE IDENTIFICATION table. On all models, remove "O" ring from control valve.
- Inspect plungers and control valve for wear and damage. Using a 1/16" (1.5 mm) drill bit, remove sensor orifice and "O" ring. If valve body is damaged, replace as an assembly. Inspect all parts for wear and damage and replace as necessary. To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Coat all parts with Power Steering Grease (08733-B070E) before assembly.
