Disabling System
- To disable SRS, turn ignition off. On coupe models, wait at least 3 minutes to allow capacitor in back-up circuit to discharge, preventing a malfunction of seat belt pretensioner.NOTE: Before disconnecting battery cables, obtain radio anti-theft code number from customer, and deactivate radio anti-theft.
- On all models, disconnect battery cables. Remove maintenance lid below driver-side air bag. See Fig 1 Remove Red short connector. Disconnect 3-pin connector between air bag and cable reel. Connect Red short connector to air bag side of connector. On coupe models, connect SRS Short Connector "A" (07MAZ-SP00200) to cable reel side of connector. See Fig 2.
