    • With transaxle in D (A/T) or 3rd gear (M/T), cruise at exactly 35 MPH for 10 seconds.
    • Release throttle and allow vehicle to decelerate below 30 MPH.
    • Accelerate to exactly 35 MPH and cruise for 10 seconds.
  2. Repeat procedure 10 times. Check ECU for fault codes. See RETRIEVING CODES  . If Code 45 or 46 is present, go to step 3). If Code 45 or 46 is not present, stop vehicle and turn ignition off. Start vehicle and repeat procedure another 5 times. If Code 45 or 46 is still not set, problem is intermittent and cannot be duplicated at this time.
  3. If Code 45 or 46 is present, turn ignition off. Check fuel pressure. See BASIC TESTING article in this section. Repair if necessary. If fuel pressure is okay, install a known good MAP sensor. Repeat step 1) and 2). If Code 45 or 46 is not present, replace original MAP sensor. If Code 45 or Code 46 is present, go to step 4).
  4. If Code 45 is present, install known good injectors on left side of engine. If Code 46 is present, install known good injectors on right side of engine. If Code 45 and 46 are present, install known good injectors on both sides of engine.
  5. Repeat step 1) and 2). If code(s) is not present, replace original fuel injectors. If code(s) is present, inspect fuel line between fuel injectors and fuel filter. If restriction is found, replace or repair as necessary. If no restriction is found, substitute a known good ECU. Retest system. If symptom/problem goes away, replace original ECU.
