Code 1: O2 Sensor

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove BACK UP fuse at battery positive terminal for 10 seconds to reset ECU. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Road test vehicle. With transmission in second gear, accelerate at wide open throttle for at least 5 seconds, and then decelerate with throttle fully closed for at least 5 seconds.
  3. Check ECU for fault codes. See RETRIEVING CODES  . If Code 1 is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for poor connections at ECU connector and O2 sensor. If Code 1 is present, go to CODE 43: FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM  .
