Code 2, Parking Brake Switch

  1. Remove ABS fuse No. 2 for 3 seconds to clear trouble code. Test drive vehicle. If ANTI-LOCK warning light and control unit LED are off (no code), vehicle was probably driven with parking brake applied.
  2. If parking brake was not applied, check for low brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Refill if necessary. Check for short circuit in Green/Red wire between BRAKE warning light and parking brake switch. Check for short circuit in Green/Red wire between BRAKE warning light and brake fluid level switch.
  3. Also check for blown bulb in BRAKE warning light. Check for open circuit in Green/Red wire between BRAKE warning light and parking brake switch. Check for open circuit in Green/Red wire between parking brake switch and control unit. If all items are okay, check for loose or damaged control unit connectors. If connectors are okay, install a known good control unit and retest.
