Ignitor Input Test (Vigor)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin connector from ignitor. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between Black wire and body ground. See Fig 1. If continuity does not exist, check for open wire or bad ground connection. If continuity is present, go to step 2.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, check for battery voltage between Black/Yellow wire and Black wire of harness. If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, check for open in Black/Yellow wire or wiring harness connector. If wire and connector are okay, go to appropriate IGNITION COIL TEST procedure.
  3. With ignition on, ensure battery voltage exists between Blue wire and Black wire at ignitor wiring harness connector. If voltage is not present, check for open circuit in Blue wire. If circuit is okay, go to appropriate IGNITION COIL TEST procedure.
