Air Boost Valve (1.8L With A/T)

  1. Air boost valve is located next to throttle body. Turn ignition off. Disconnect vacuum hose from intake manifold. Connect vacuum pump to hose. Apply vacuum to air boost valve. Replace valve if it holds vacuum.
  2. Remove vacuum pump. Reconnect hose to intake manifold. Start and idle engine. Reconnect vacuum pump/gauge to hose. If vacuum exists, replace air boost valve. If there is no vacuum, air boost valve is okay.
