Pump Pressure Check
- Check fluid level and belt tension. Adjust as necessary. Disconnect outlet hose from pump. Install Pump Joint Adapter (07GAK-SE00110 ) onto pump outlet fitting. See Fig 1 .
- Install Hose Joint Adapter (07GAK-SE00120 ) onto outlet hose. Install Pressure Gauge Set (07406-0010000 ) between pump and hose joint adapters. Fully open shutoff and pressure control valves.
- Start and idle engine. Turn steering wheel lock to lock several times to warm fluid. Completely close shutoff valve.
- Gradually close pressure control valve until pressure gauge needle stabilizes. Read pressure. Immediately open shutoff valve. Pump pressure should be at least 1140 psi (80 kg/cm2 ). Repair or replace pump if pressure is not within specification.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to pump, DO NOT keep shutoff valve closed for longer than 5 seconds.
