Code 15: Ignition Output Signal
- Turn ignition off. Remove ACG fuse (No. 15, 7.5-amp) from underdash fuse box for 10 seconds to reset ECM. Check ECM for fault codes. If Code 15 is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for poor connections at ECM, ignitor unit, wiring harness connectors and G102 ground terminal (located at valve cover). Test drive vehicle and retest.
- If Code 15 is present, turn ignition off. Disconnect 8-pin connector from ignitor unit. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals "C" and "F". See Fig 1 . If continuity is not present, repair open in Black wire between ground terminal G102 and 8-pin connector.
- If continuity is present, disconnect 6-pin connector from ignitor unit. See Fig 2 . Connect ECM Test Harness (07LAJ-PT3010A ) to ECM wiring harness connectors, leaving ECM disconnected. See Figure . Check for continuity between body ground and test terminals A21, A22, B3, B4, B6 and B8. If continuity is present at any terminal, repair short circuit.
- If continuity is not present, check for continuity between ignitor unit 6-pin connector terminal and corresponding terminal at ECM connectors. See ECM/IGNITOR UNIT CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
table. If continuity is not present, repair open circuit. If continuity is present, substitute a known good ignitor. If symptom/condition goes away, replace original ignitor. If symptom/condition does not go away, replace ECM and retest.ECM/IGNITOR UNIT CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
