Code 6, Front & Rear Fail-Safe Relays
- Start engine. If ANTI-LOCK light does not go off, go to next step. If light goes off, system is okay at this time. Check for damaged wire harness between control unit, solenoids and fail-safe relays.
- Check for ABS trouble codes. If Code 6 is not set, perform appropriate trouble code test. If Code 6 is set, disconnect control unit 22-pin connector. Start engine. Measure voltage between Yellow/Green wire terminal of 22-pin connector and ground.
- If battery voltage is present, Yellow/Green wire between control unit and fail-safe relays is shorted to ground. If battery voltage is not present, turn ignition off. Reconnect control unit 22-pin connector. Turn ignition on.
- Measure voltage between Yellow/Green wire terminal of 22-pin connector and ground. If battery voltage is present, replace control unit. If battery voltage is not present, perform CODE 6-1 and CODE 6-4 tests.
