Abs Function Test: Testing

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect ABS Tester (07HAJ-SG0010B) to 6-pin inspection connector. See Figure . Start engine, and release parking brake. Place mode selector in mode 1. Push START TEST button. TEST-IN-PROGRESS light should come on. DO NOT turn mode selector switch while TEST-IN-PROGRESS light is on.
  2. Ensure all 4 monitor lights on ABS tester come on within 1-2 seconds. ANTI-LOCK light should not come on. If light is on, check system for codes. See RETRIEVING CODES.
  3. Turn mode selector to mode 2. Depress brake pedal firmly, and push START TEST button. ANTI-LOCK warning light should not come on and kickback should be felt at brake pedal. If light comes on or kickback is not felt, see ANTI-LOCK WARNING LIGHT under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. Repeat step 3) for remaining ABS tester modes (3, 4 and 5). Results should be as described in mode 2. If results differ, see ANTI-LOCK WARNING LIGHT. Breakdown of modes is as follows:
