Code 8-1, Abs Function

  1. Test drive vehicle at minimum speed of 12 MPH for at least 2 minutes. If ANTI-LOCK light comes on, go to next step. If light does not come on, system is okay at this time. Check wheel speed sensor connections. If connections are okay, code was probably caused by rough road condition.
  2. Check for ABS trouble codes. If Code 8-1 is set, replace control unit. If Code 8-1 is not set, perform appropriate trouble code test.
