Mechanical Inspection: Compression

Warm engine to normal operating temperature before checking the compression. Ensure battery is fully charged. Disconnect electrical connector(s) at ignition coil(s). Check engine mechanical condition with a compression gauge, vacuum gauge, or engine analyzer with throttle fully open. See engine analyzer manual for specific instructions. See COMPRESSION SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install and tighten spark plugs to 13 ft. lbs. (18 N.m).

Normal Compression Pressure At 200 RPM & WOT 199 psi (1373 kPa)
Minimum Compression Pressure 142 psi (981 kPa)
Maximum Variation Between Cylinders 28 psi (196 kPa)
