Testing Procedure

When the Check Engine light has been reported on, connect the Service Check Connector terminals with a jumper wire as shown (the Service Check Connector is located under the dash on the passenger side of the car). See Figure . Turn the ignition switch ON. Note the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). Troubleshoot as necessary. After troubleshooting, remove the jumper wire. If the Service Check Connector is jumped the Check Engine light will stay on. Reset the ECM. Set the radio station presets and the clock.
