Fuel Pressure Regulator

WARNING: DO NOT smoke during the test. Keep open flame away from your work area. ALWAYS release fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
  1. Attach a pressure gauge to the service port of the fuel filter. See Fig 1 .

  2. Pressure should be 46-53 psi (330-370 kPa) with the regulator vacuum hose disconnected and pinched.
  3. Reconnect the vacuum hose to the pressure regulator.
  4. Check that the fuel pressure rises when the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator is disconnected again.
  5. If the fuel pressure did not rise, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
