Code 1: Ho2S

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove BACK-UP fuse (10-amp) from underhood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds to reset ECM. Start engine, and warm it to normal operating temperature.
  2. Road test vehicle. With transmission in 4th gear (A/T in 2nd), accelerate at wide open throttle for at least 5 seconds and then decelerate, with throttle fully closed, for at least 5 seconds.
  3. Check ECM for fault codes. If Code 1 is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for poor connections at ECM connector and HO2S. If Code 1 is present, go to CODE 43.
