Code P0112 - IAT Sensor Low Input

  1. Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Turn ignition on. Read intake air temperature. If indicated intake air temperature is not greater than 230°F (110°C), go to next step. If indicated intake air temperature is greater than 230°F (110°C), go to step 3).
  2. Read ambient temperature. If indicated ambient temperature is approximately the same as actual ambient temperature, temporarily substitute known good MAF sensor, then retest system. If indicated ambient temperature is not approximately the same as actual ambient temperature, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections or loose wires at IAT sensor and ECM, then repair as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug MAF sensor. Turn ignition on. Read intake air temperature. If indicated intake air temperature is greater than 230°F (110°C), go to next step. If indicated intake air temperature is not greater than 230°F (110°C), temporarily substitute known good MAF sensor, then retest system.
  4. Turn ignition off. Unplug 22-pin connector "D" from ECM. Test for continuity between MAF sensor connector Red/Yellow wire and ground. If continuity does not exist, temporarily substitute known good ECM, then retest system. If continuity exists, repair shorted Red/Yellow wire.
