Code P0133 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (Ho2S)

NOTE: If Codes P0130 and/or P0135 also exist, service them first.
  1. Inspect air cleaner element for dirt, debris, or damage. Service as necessary. Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Clear codes. Start and run engine at 3000 RPM until fan comes on, then run at idle.
  2. Test-drive vehicle at 55 MPH with transmission in D4 range until readiness light comes on. If Code P0133 appears, temporarily substitute known good HO2S, then retest system. If Code P0133 does not appear, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections or loose wires associated with HO2S and ECM, then repair as necessary.
