Code 10 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
- Turn ignition off. Remove BACK-UP fuse (7.5-amp) from underhood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds to reset ECM. Retrieve codes. If Code 10 does not appear, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections at ECM, air temperature sensor, and wiring harness connectors.
- Test-drive vehicle and retest. If Code 10 is appears, turn ignition off. Unplug 2-pin connector from sensor connector. Measure resistance at sensor terminals. If resistance is not 400-4000 ohms, replace air temperature sensor. If resistance is 400-4000 ohms, turn ignition on. Measure voltage between Red/Yellow wire terminal and body ground.
- If voltage is not about 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is about 5 volts, measure voltage between Red/Yellow (+) and Green/Blue (-) wire terminals at sensor. If voltage is not about 5 volts, repair open in Green/White wire between ECM terminal D22 and air temperature sensor. If voltage is about 5 volts, temporarily substitute known good ECM, then retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Attach ECM Test Harness (07LAJ-PT3010A ) connector "D" to ECM, leaving wiring harness disconnected. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between test terminals D15 (+) and D22 (-). If voltage is about 5 volts, repair Red/Yellow wire between ECM connector terminal D15 and air temperature sensor. If voltage is not about 5 volts, temporarily substitute known good ECM, then retest system.
