Adjusting Ignition Timing

  1. Check ignition timing. See CHECKING IGNITION TIMING  . If Red mark and pointer are not aligned, adjust timing. See IGNITION TIMING  . Red mark on crankshaft pulley should align with pointer. See Figure .
  2. If Red mark and pointer are not aligned, adjust base ignition timing by turning distributor. See IGNITION TIMING  . Remove short connector from ignition timing adjusting connector.
