Power Circuits

  1. Check for battery voltage between ECM terminal D1 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check BACK UP fuse (7.5-amp) located in underhood fuse block. If fuse is okay, check for an open in White/Blue wire between fuse block and control unit.
  2. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage between ground and ECM terminals A25 and B1. If battery voltage is not present, check ECM fuse (located in underhood fuse block). If fuse is okay, check for open in Yellow/Black wire between main relay and ECM terminals A25 and B1, faulty main relay, or faulty ignition switch.
  3. Connect voltmeter between ground and ECM terminal B9. Hold ignition switch in START position. Battery voltage should be present between ECM terminal B9 and ground ONLY when ignition switch is in START position.
  4. If voltage is not present, check fuse No. 18 (7.5-amp) located in underdash fuse block. If fuse is okay, check for an open in Blue/White wire between fuse No. 18 (7.5-amp) and terminal B9 of ECM, or check for a defective ignition switch.
