Retrieving Codes

The MIL may come on to indicate a hard or intermittent failure. Locate 2-pin self-diagnostic connector behind glove box. See Fig 1 . Connect diagnostic connector terminals with Short Connector (07 PAZ-0010100 ). Turn ignition on. Observe MIL. Light indicates a system trouble code by number of blinks.
Single-digit trouble codes (1-9) are indicated by individual short blinks. Double-digit trouble codes (10-59) are indicated by a series of long and short blinks: number of long blinks equals first digit; number of short blinks equals second digit. See TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION . If codes other than those listed appear, temporarily substitute a known good ECM, then retest system.
