Air Conditioning Signal

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect A/C pressure switch. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between PCM terminals B3 and A26. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to step 3). If battery voltage do es not exist, go to next step.
NOTE: When substituting a known-good PCM, immobilizer code must be rewritten using Honda PGM tester or engine will not start.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector "C". Check continuity between ground and PCM terminal B3. If continuity exists, repair shorted wire between PCM terminal B3 and A/C pressure switch or A/C diode. If continuity does not exist, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck for symptom.
  3. Turn ignition off. Reconnect A/C pressure switch. Turn ignition on. Using a jumper wire, momentarily connect PCM terminals A8 and A26. If A/C compressor clutch clicks, go to step 5). If A/C clutch does not click, go to next step.
  4. Using a jumper wire, apply ground to Red/Blue wire at A/C clutch relay harness connector. If A/C clutch does not click, other A/C problem exists.
  5. Start engine, and turn blower on. Turn A/C switch on. If A/C operates, A/C signal is okay. If A/C does not operate, measure voltage between terminals B3 and A26.
  6. If voltage is less than one volt, substitute a known-good PCM, and recheck for symptom. If voltage is more than one volt, repair open Blue/Black wire between PCM terminal B3 and A/C switch.
