2-Way Valve

  1. Remove fuel filler cap. Two-way valve is located above EVAP canister. Remove upper vapor hose from 2-way valve. Connect a vacuum pump and vacuum/pressure gauge to upper port on 2-way valve.
  2. Slowly apply vacuum while observing vacuum gauge. Vacuum should stabilize momentarily between .2 and .6 in. Hg. If vacuum does not stabilize (valve opens) in specified range, replace 2-way valve and retest.
  3. Install a "T" in vacuum hose to vacuum/pressure gauge. Slowly pressurize vapor line while observing gauge. See Fig 1 . If pressure stabilizes at .3 in. Hg, valve is okay. If pressure does not stabilize at .3 Hg, replace 2-way valve, and retest.
