Checking Ignition Timing

  1. Operate engine until cooling fan comes on. Locate 2-pin service check connector (behind right kick panel). Plug Service Check Connector Tool (07PAZ-0010100 ), into service check connector. Refer to Fig 1 .
  2. Connect inductive timing light to No. 1 spark plug wire. Ensure idle speed is 700-800 RPM. Red (16° BTDC) mark on crankshaft pulley should align with pointer on timing belt cover. If Red mark and pointer are not aligned, adjust base ignition timing by turning distributor. See IGNITION TIMING  . Remove service check connector tool from service check connector.

    Application (2) Man. Trans. (3) Auto. Trans.
    Integra 14-18 700-800 14-18 700-800
    (1) Service Check Connector Tool (07PAZ-0010100 ) must be installed before checking timing.
    (2) Manual transmission in Neutral.
    (3) Automatic transmission in Neutral or Park.
