Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between PCM terminals C16 and A9. See Figure. If voltage is less than one volt, go to step 3). If voltage is greater than one volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug 2-wire connector on PSP switch. Connect jumper between PSP switch harness connector terminals. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between PCM harness connector terminals A9 and C16. If less than one volt exists, replace PSP switch. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair open in Green wire (between PCM terminal C16 and PSP switch), or Black wire and ground connection.
- Reconnect PSP switch. Start engine. Turn steering wheel slowly. Measure voltage between PCM terminals C16 and A9 while steering wheel is being turned. If battery voltage exists, PSP signal is okay. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug PSP switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between PCM terminals C16 and A9. If voltage exists, replace PSP switch. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector "C". Check continuity between ground and PCM harness connector terminal C16. If continuity exists, repair shorted Green wire between PCM terminal C16 and PSP switch. If continuity does not exist, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck for symptom.
