DTC P1607 - ECM Internal Failure

Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Clear codes. Turn ignition on. Wait 5 seconds, then retrieve codes. If DTC P1607 does not appear failure is intermittent, fault not present at this time. If DTC P1607 appears, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck for symptom or DTC. If symptom/indication goes away, replace the origianal ECM.
