DTC P1660 - A/T FI Data Line
- Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Clear codes. Turn ignition off. Retrieve codes. Start and idle engine for at least one minute. If DTC P1660 appears, go to next step. If DTC P1660 does not appear, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections or loose wires associated with TCM and PCM, then repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Check for continuity between terminal No. 20 at TCM 26-pin harness connector and terminal No. 19 at PCM harness connector "C" (Blue wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Blue wire.
- Unplug PCM connector "C" and 26-pin TCM connector. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Blue wire) at PCM harness connector "C". If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair shorted Blue wire.
- Check voltage between TCM 26-pin connector pins No. 12 (Yellow wire) and No. 13 (Brown/Black wire), and between pins No. 25 (Yellow wire) and No. 26 (Brown/Black wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open or short in appropriate Yellow or Brown/Black wire.
- Temporarily substitute known good TCM. If DTC P1660 still appears, temporarily substitute known good PCM, then retest system. If DTC P1660 does not still appear, replace TCM.
