DTC P0133: Ho2S-1 Slow Response

NOTE: If DTCs P0130 and/or P0135 are present, troubleshoot them before DTC P0133.
  1. When DTC P0133 is set, a slow response has been detected. Check for deterioration of HO2S-1 and HO2S-1 heater or an exhaust leak. Check for a damaged or dirty air cleaner element. Repair or replace as necessary.
  2. Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING CODES  . Start engine and run at 3000 RPM with no loads and transmission in Park or Neutral, until radiator fan comes on. Install SCS service connector tool. See Figure . Test drive vehicle at a constant 55 MPH, with transmission in "D4" position until readiness code comes on. If DTC P0133 sets, replace HO2S-1. If DTC P0133 does not set, problem is intermittent, system is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires between HO2S-1 and PCM. See the WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
