Ignitor Input Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Acura 2.5TL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug 4-pin connector from igniter. Test for continuity between Black wire and body ground. See Fig 1. If continuity does not exist, inspect for open wire or bad ground connection. If continuity exists, go to step 2).
  2. Turn ignition on. Test for battery voltage between Black/Yellow and Black wires of harness. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, inspect for open Black/Yellow wire or connector. If wire and connector are okay, go to IGNITION COIL TEST  procedure.
  3. With ignition on, test for battery voltage between Green wire and Black wires at igniter wiring harness connector. If battery voltage does not exist, inspect for open circuit in Green wire. If circuit is okay, go to IGNITION COIL TEST  procedure.
