DTC P0740/Flash Code 40: Lock-Up Control System

NOTE: If other DTC are set, diagnose affected DTC first. After repairs, recheck for DTC.
  1. Check transaxle hydraulic line pressure. See LINE PRESSURE TEST in ACURA M5HA OVERHAUL article. Repair as necessary. If line pressures are as specified, go to next step.
  2. Replace lock-up control solenoid valve "A" and "B" assembly. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Clear DTC. See CLEARING FAULT CODES  . After clearing DTC, go to next step.
  3. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at a constant speed of 55 MPH for more than one minute. Recheck DTC. If DTC resets, replace transaxle assembly and torque converter. If this DTC does not reset, system is okay.
