Symptom Diagnosis
Symptom checks cannot be used properly unless the problem occurs while the vehicle is being tested. To reduce diagnostic time, ensure Basic Diagnostic Procedures in the BASIC TESTING - GS-R article and Self-Diagnostic Tests in the TESTS W/CODES - GS-R article were performed before diagnosing a symptom. Recommended system and component checks may not apply to all vehicles. Trouble shoot symptom probable causes in order listed under symptom checks. Symptoms available for diagnosis include the following:
- Engine Will Not Start
- Hard To Start
- Cold Fast Idle Too Low
- Cold Fast Idle Too High
- Idle RPM Fluctuates
- Misfire Or Rough Operation
- Lack Of Power
- Engine Stalls
