Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV)

Ensure crankcase ventilation hoses and connections are not clogged and no leaks exist. Start engine. With engine at idle, pinch and release PCV hose. PCV valve should click. If PCV valve does not click, check PCV valve grommet for cracks or damage. Ensure manifold vacuum exists at valve. If manifold vacuum exists and grommet is okay, replace PCV valve and recheck. If manifold vacuum does not exist, check for restricted vacuum port or PCV hose.
