Brake Switch Signal

  1. Check stoplight operation. If stoplights operate properly, go to step 3). If stoplights stay on, check stoplight switch. Repair or replace switch as necessary. If stoplights do not come on when brake pedal is depressed, check STOP, HORN fuse located in underhood fuse/relay box. See FUSE IDENTIFICATION  . See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. If fuse is okay, repair open in wire between fuse and stoplight switch. If wire is okay, check stoplight switch. If fuse in not okay, repair short in wire between fuse and stoplight switch. Replace STOP, HORN fuse.
  3. Depress brake pedal and measure voltage between specified PCM terminals. See BRAKE SIGNAL TESTING  . See Figure . See appropriate wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If battery voltage exists, brake signal is okay. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Green/White wire between PCM connector and brake switch.

    Integra A9 (BRN/BLK) & D5 (GRN/WHT)
    NOTE: Fast idle thermo valve is factory adjusted and should not be disassembled.
