Charging System Light: Integra
- Perform PRELIMINARY INSPECTION . Repair or replace any components as required. Measure voltage at generator 4-pin connector terminal No. 1 (3-pin connector, terminal No. 2 for Canadian models) Black/Yellow wire. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Black/Yellow wire.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Charging system light should come on. If charging system light comes on, go to next step. If charging system light does not come on, check for faulty bulb, blown fuse No. 15 fuse or open in White/Blue wire or Yellow/Black wire. Repair or replace components as necessary.
- Start engine. Charging system light should turn off. If charging system light stays on, go to next step. If charging system light turns off, charging system light circuit is functioning properly.
- Use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and generator 4-pin connector terminal No. 1 (3-pin connector, terminal No. 2 for Canadian models) Black/Yellow wire. See Figure . If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between alternator and underdash fuse/relay box.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect generator 4-pin (3-pin for Canadian models) connector. Ground terminal No. 3. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If charging system light is on, turn ignition switch to OFF position and go to next step. If charging system light is off, repair open in White/Blue wire or Black/Yellow wire.
- Remove White/Blue wire (terminal No. 3) from generator 4-pin (3-pin for Canadian models) connector. Recheck charging system light operation. If light remains on, go to next step. If light goes off, test and repair generator components. See BENCH TESTING .
- Repair short to ground in White/Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
