Idle Speed & Mixture

NOTE: Before setting idle speed, ensure MIL is not on, no DTCs are stored, ignition timing is correct, spark plugs and air cleaner are okay, and PCV system is operating properly.
NOTE: On models equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), apply parking brake, and with engine running, ensure headlights are off.

(1) With transmission in Neutral of Park, IAC valve disconnected and no accessory loads.
(2) With transmission in Neutral or Park, IAC valve connected and no accessory loads.
(3) With transmission in Neutral or Park, IAC valve connected and headlights on low.
(4) Turn all accessories off and allow engine to idle for one minute. Place blower motor switch to HI position, and turn A/C on. Idle speed should be 700-800 RPM for B18B1 and B18C1 engines.
(5) With headlights off, blower switch set to high and A/C on.
(6) With headlights on high and rear defogger on.
