Power Mirror Control Unit Input

  1. Power mirror control unit is located behind driver's door panel. See DOOR PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect power mirror control unit connectors and check for bent, loose or corroded terminals. Repair as required. Perform first part of power mirror control unit input test. See Fig 1 . Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If power mirror control unit tests are okay, go to next step.
  2. Reconnect power mirror control unit connectors. Perform second part of power mirror control unit input test at back of power mirror control unit connectors (backprobe). See Fig 2 . Repair as necessary. If all tests are okay, go to next step.
  3. If all tests have proven okay, substitute power mirror control unit with a known-good unit and recheck system operation. If system operates okay, replace original power mirror control unit. If problem persists, check communication lines between power mirror control unit and other control units (steering column control unit or power seat control unit). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
