3.2TL & 3.5RL

On 3.5RL, raise and support front of vehicle. Set parking brake and block both rear wheels. Pull carpet back under passenger's seat, to expose secondary heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector. Disconnect secondary HO2S connector and push it out under vehicle. Remove exhaust pipe bracket and pipe. See Figure . Remove secondary HO2S harness cover and three way catalytic converter. Remove exhaust heat shields.
On all models, disconnect 10-pin A/T gear position switch connector, located above and right of transaxle on 3.2TL, or below and left of transaxle on 3.5RL. See Fig 1 .
Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between specified terminals of A/T gear position switch. See appropriate A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCH CONTINUITY table. Replace A/T gear position switch if continuity is not as specified.
