Multiplex Communication Functions
Multiplex control system reduces the number of wire harnesses by sending digital signals over shared multiplex communication lines. A Central Processing Unit (CPU) converts input signals from each switch to digital signals, and transmits them as serial data. Serial data transmitted from multiplex control units is received by the individual control modules and converted to compatible signals for switch operation.
There are 2 dedicated communication lines between multiplex control units. Brown wire runs between terminal A15 of door multiplex control unit 20-pin harness connector and terminal No. 2 of driver's multiplex control unit 24-pin harness connector. Pink wire runs between terminal B1 of driver's 22-pin multiplex control unit harness connector and terminal B9 of passenger's multiplex control unit 22-pin harness connector.
