Driver's Multiplex Control Unit-To-Door Multiplex Control Unit
- Turn ignition off. Remove driver's multiplex control unit. See DRIVER'S UNDERDASH FUSE/RELAY BOX under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove driver's multiplex control unit from driver's underdash fuse/relay box. Remove door panel and door multiplex control unit. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect door multiplex control unit 20-pin connector "A". Go to next step.
- Check continuity in Brown wire between terminal A15 of door multiplex control unit 20-pin harness connector and terminal A2 of driver's multiplex control unit 24-pin harness connector on driver's underdash fuse/relay box. See Figure and Figure . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Brown wire. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
- Reconnect door multiplex control unit 20-pin connector "A". Reconnect driver's multiplex control unit to driver's underdash fuse/relay box. Turn ignition on. Individually check voltage between ground and terminal A15 (Brown wire) of door multiplex control unit 20-pin harness connector, and terminal A2 (Brown wire) of driver's multiplex control unit 24-pin harness connector (backprobe). Voltage should be 3.5-9.5 volts. If voltage is as specified, communication line between driver's control unit and door multiplex control unit is okay, check system sleep and wake-up mode functions. Go to SLEEP & WAKE-UP FUNCTION . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- If voltage is 9.5 volts or more, check for short to power or faulty connection at receiving multiplex control unit. If voltage is 3.5 volts or less, check for short to ground or faulty connection at transmitting multiplex control unit. If circuit and connector are okay, check for malfunctioning transmitting multiplex control unit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
