Valve Clearance: INTEGRA
- Ensure cylinder head temperature is less than 100°F (38°C). Remove cylinder head cover and timing belt covers.
- Align pointer on timing belt lower cover with TDC (White mark) on crankshaft pulley. Ensure UP marks on both camshaft sprockets are at top of cam gears and TDC groove on back cover between camshaft sprockets lines up with both sprocket TDC grooves. Remove distributor cap. Distributor rotor should be pointing to No. 1 spark plug wire on cap. Loosen valve adjusting screw lock nuts and adjust valve clearances on cylinder No. 1. Tighten valve adjusting screw lock nuts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m), and recheck valve clearance.
- Rotate crankshaft counterclockwise 180 degrees (camshaft sprockets will rotate 90 degrees) to bring No. 3 piston to TDC on compression stroke. Ensure UP marks on both camshaft sprockets are on exhaust side. Adjust valves on cylinder No. 3.
- Rotate crankshaft counterclockwise 180 degrees (camshaft sprockets will rotate 90 degrees) to bring No. 4 piston to TDC on compression stroke. Ensure UP marks on both camshaft sprockets are pointing straight down. Adjust valves on cylinder No. 4.
- Rotate crankshaft counterclockwise 180 degrees (camshaft sprockets will rotate 90 degrees) to bring No. 2 piston to TDC on compression stroke. Ensure UP marks on both camshaft sprockets are on intake side. Adjust valves on cylinder No. 2. After adjusting valves, replace distributor cap, timing belt covers and cylinder head cover. Ensure crankshaft pulley bolt is tightened to 130 ft. lbs. (176 N.m).
